Girls are charity champs

We would like to applaud some of the girls in Year 4 who went the extra mile for Red Nose Day last week.

It was Hannah Spencer's own initiative to use her nan's recipe and add the faces to make her creations
into Red Nose biscuits.
She then went around her road and "sold" them for donation and raised £10.60 for Comic relief. The remaining cookies were brought to school and donated to the cake sale.

With the kind agreement of the club chairman, Steve Brierley, the girls set up their stall and in just over two hours sold all the cakes and brownies they’d made on Saturday afternoon (over 100!), making a grand total of £64.25.

The girls were keen to put the money back through the school, if there was a chance to increase their takings to £128.50, if the government were to double the donation!!

We were very happy, of course, to oblige.

Very well done to the girls and to everyone else who went the extra mile to help others in need.
