New Maths Curriculum

To reflect the revised National Curriculum, we have been updating our plans and approaches to different subjects.

Below you will find Maths documents for each Year group: these highlight the Key Objectives (main teaching & learning areas) for the Year group in the central column. They have alongside them the preceding Year group objectives - for times when pupils may need to focus on or reinforce earlier learning - and the objectives for the Year above - for when pupils require a greater challenge
This is not the case for Year 6, as the objectives for Year 7 are not set out in the same way: rest assured though that our most able upper Juniors will be challenged with appropriate Key Stage 3 (secondary school) knowledge and skills.

Please note also that with the new curriculum comes a higher expectation for pupil knowledge; so, for example, some previous Year 5 objectives can now be found in Year 4.

The new curriculum for Maths and other subjects will shortly be 'stored' and available on the school website under the 'Curriculum' tab. You can also search this blog in the future by clicking on an appropriate label, found in the right hand column.

Please ask your child's teacher or contact the school via the office if you have any questions about Maths or any other aspect of our curriculum.
